Sensor DJSensor DJ is a light sensitive musical instrument that requires no hand contact to play. With a wide array of synthesized samples for the performer to choose from, you can layer and mix a unique soundtrack using the four light sensors on the top of the box to control the on/off, looping, amplitude and volume of each track. This fun and interactive instrument allows artists to ‘groove’ with the music and influence the sound with more natural movements than traditional controls would allow.

Heat & Harvest
Intended as a replacement for the ordinary Decora “glass block” used in modern construction, Heat and Harvest is conceptual prototype for a modular building component that captures light energy through a Fresnel lens during winter hours to create a heating element, while becoming completely self shaded during summer months. This angle of the lens and depth of the aperture was optimized for a southern-facing wall in the NY area using recorded sun-path data and Ecotect analytic software.
Software Utilized: Ecotect, Generative Components, Rhino, MasterCamX Data Used: New York - Central Park Weather Station - 12 mos. Materials: Acrylic, Aluminum, Fresnel lenses Digital Fabrication Tools: 3-Axis Mill |
